Ashcoast House is located in the small village of Talysarn in Nantlle Valley, north of Snowdonia National Park. It is roughly halfway between the town of Caernarfon and Porthmadog. Villages of Rhyd-Ddu and Beddgelert, at the foot of Snowdon are only a short drive away. The nearest beach is the beautiful Blue-Flag Dinas Dinlle, and near Porthmadog the seaside village of Borth-y-Gest, with its beautiful sandy beaches and coves stretching all the way to Black Rock Sands, is a favourite with all visitors.

Ashcoast House is within 5 minutes walking distance of Dorothea lakes. These are 5 large and very deep former slate quarry pits that have been filled up with water from underground springs. There are well-defined and easily accessible footpaths that take you around and between the lakes to the village of Nantlle. Ideal for walking dogs or just stretching your legs and enjoying the fabulous views of Nantlle Ridge and Snowdon summit.
Dog Friendly
Dog owners know how difficult it can be holidaying with dogs. You love them dearly and a holiday just wouldn’t be the same without them, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a night off? To go for a meal or a drink? To sit inside a restaurant or a pub for a change? Most importantly not having to worry about your dogs? Well at Ashcoast House you can. The owners have been dog owners in the past and are happy to look after your dogs in their house, while you have a well-deserved night off. Just let them know in advance.

Are you thinking of climbing Snowdon? Hiring mountain bikes and spending the day in the Beddgelert Forest? Goings to Zip-World or Surf-Snowdonia for the day? But you are worried about your dogs? Just let the owners know in advance and they will look after your dogs while you are out during the day. So you can relax and make the most of your day and look forward to a big doggy greeting when you get back.

You can take up to 2 dogs to Ashcoast House.
* Dogs fees of £25 / dog / booking
* Please do not leave your dogs unattended in the house

You could be enjoying the mountains and doing a forest walk in the morning and by the afternoon walking on a sandy beach seeing the red coloured mountain tops as the sun sets. Then have a leisurely stroll through the old streets of Caernarfon in the evening with Caernarfon Castle majestically lit in the background, before dining at one of the many eateries. It’s fab..
